Tom Drinker’s West will be the name of the 250-seat pizzeria and pub from Avram Hornik (Drnker’sPub, Drinker’s Tavern, Lucy’s Hat Shop) set for University City this month. Elsewhere in UCity, Sang Kee is also hoping to open this month, City Tap House is aiming for after Christmas and Landmark Americana on Drexel’s campus is targeting February. [The Insider]

Marty Grims is set to open Chew Man Chu on Wednesday, October 28th. It’ll be classic Asian dishes prepared by chef Wong Ophaso. Ophaso has experience around the world in French and Asian restaurants.
Muffaletta, fried oyster po boys, beignets and more ‘Nalins cuisine will be available at Beck’s Cajun Cafe at the Reading Terminal Market.

Di Vino Wine Bar has opened off Rittenhouse Square with a different menu than the one we published a few weeks back. The current menu tops out at $18 a plate. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]

Sample the fruits of the vine from vintners all around the world
Downstairs at World Cafe Live on Sunday, September 30th from 2 to 6 PM.
Wines from each region will be complimented by gourmet offerings from DiBruno Brothers. World Cafe Live Executive Chef Matt Babbage will also be creating tapas from each featured part of the world.
And since this is World Cafe Live there will of course be live music.
The event costs $45 and includes wines, food, live music, and sampling wineglass.

World Cafe Live’s Second Anniversary, on certain days during the Live After 5 Happy Hour weekdays from 5-7:30 PM, celebrity guest bartenders will be serving drink specials for a good cause. NOLA:Philly to New Orleans.
NOLA helps to promote artists from New Orleans by providing them with a venue to showcase their music and supports teams of local musicians and members of the music community who will volunteer in New Orleans with Hands On New Orleans to re-establish displaced musicians.

In celebration of their 2nd Anniversary, each Friday in October World Cafe Live will present Oktoberfest Fridays featuring beer samplings with free goodies and complimentary beer glasses. All the fun gets started at 5:30 PM.
Tomorrow, and entirely appropriate for Friday the Thirteenth, Magic Hats Jinx will be the featured beer.
On Friday, October 20th Rogues Uberfest Pilsner will be sampled and on October 27th itll be Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat.
