The Wine School of Philadelphia has unveiled The Beer School. The companion institution of hoppy learning will be headed up by the Philadelphia Brewing Co.’s Dean Browne.
The initial classes are, The Origins of Flavor in Beer and Barley Amongst the Vines – The unique beers of famous wine regions. Classes begin in March and are $37.99 each.

The
Wine School of Philadelphia is having one last
Sommelier Smackdown this year and this time it’s personal! School Founder Keith Wallace is taking on his friend and colleague Brian Freedman to the ultimate bout. The two will battle it out matching food and wine and you be the judge.
Additionally the Wine School of Philadelphia has announced they will be adding classes at a new location, Old City’s Pinot.

The area’s top sommeliers will join the
Wine School of Philadelphia for two-hour food & wine pairing competition in a
Sommelier Smackdown! And you can be the judge.Sommeliers include Christophe Tassan of
Le Bec-Fin, Ryan Davis of
Rae, Mark Hoyt of
Patou, Steve Harris of
Fleming’s Steak House, and Christophe Guillot of
Brasserie Perrier.
The first of the smackdowns will be Wednesday, June 13th with Ryan Davis of Rae. Seating is limited so sign up right away.

The Wine School of Philadelphia is hosting a wine dinner at Figs this evening and as of noon seven seats remain.
Dinner starts at 7:30 and costs $55 a person. This is a BYOB event, so make sure to bring a favorite bottle!
Additionally, Keith of the wine school will be featured on KYW3 this evening between 4 and 5.
