Space Age Soda Fountain

Posted by Foobooz on 10th September 2009

Wawa’s 38th and Spruce location, the one that hasn’t closed (we’re still bitter Wawa!) has added some serious technology to its fountain soda machine. You can now add flavor shots of cherry, chocolate, raspberry or vanilla to your favorite carbonated beverage.

Text Your Way to Free Dessert

Posted by Foobooz on 9th September 2009

You’re a really excellent texter. In fact if texting were an Olympic sport you believe you’d be a Medal contender. Well sadly texting doesn’t look like it will be at the summer of winter games anytime soon but your texting can get you a free dessert or espresso from Rx.

Text Rx to 47201 and opt in to the “Rx Mobile VIP Club” and you can show the reply text to get a free dessert or espresso. The question of course is what else did we opt into but so far our phone has remained quiet.

MidAtlantic Menus

Posted by Foobooz on 8th September 2009

midatlantic-logo

MidAtlantic teased us a couple of weeks ago via Twitter that there would be crab scrapple on the menu.

Today, we have the full menu to analyze.

The menu is broken down into several sections:

  • Snacks, Salads, Pickings and Tap House food
  • Chilled Seafood
  • Every Night Dinners
  • Nightly SpecialsSustenance
  • Mixed Grills, the perfect shared feast
  • Sandwiches
  • Sides

The every night dinners are 3-courses for $30 and individual menu items top out at $18.

As for crab scrapple, it comes  in cake form with a toasted mustard sauce and in the Crab Louis with lettuce wedge, buckwheat and brandy Louis dressing.

We’re salivating for the Welsh Rarebit fondue and the 1/2 dozen hardshells every night dinner.

Complete menu after the jump.

Pre-Movie Bites At Cantina At Distrito

Posted by Foobooz on 4th September 2009

Living on the Vedge hits up the new Cantina at Distrito menu before a movie at the Bridge. She finds the vegetarian options better than Distrito’s past efforts, what isn’t there to like about portabella tacos and Mission style quesadillas.

But the real zinger is her description of a typical (not Distrito) margarita.

First up, the $5 Cantina Margarita, a formidable reminder that not all margs taste like the dirty bathwater of Sour Patch Kids. Even the lowliest margarita on Distrito’s roster is a goddamn blessing.

It would appear that is at least one of the menu items on Daniel Stern’s MidAtlantic menu.

We caught the following via Twitter last night:

Big Changes At Distrito

Posted by Foobooz on 20th August 2009

distrito_cabs

Distrito is overhauling their first floor and turning it into a “student-friendly” cantina. Expect $5 cocktails, $2-3 Mexican beers and food prices that will be easier on the wallet.

No word on the Volkswagen Bug table but we’d guess it’ll fit in just fine.
