L’oca, a high-end Northern Italian has opened at 2025 Fairmount Avenue in Fairmount. Chef Luca Garutti is a veteran of La Locanda del Ghiottone and Ristorante Panorama. [Table Talk, Philadelphia Inquirer]

Trattoria Alla Costiera opened last week at Passyunk and Catharine. Tommy Casso and his wife owned a place on Oregon Avenue in the 90s before returning to Italy. But they’re back now serving Neopolitan cuisine. [Table Talk, Philadelphia Inquirer]

Drew Lazor sheds some more light on James, the anticipated Bella Vista restaurant to be owned by Jim and Kristina Burke. Jim was formerly executive chef at Stephen Starr’s Angelina and will be offering a “simple seasonal menu,” although a review of the menu says more than simple. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]

Bart Blatstein’s Avenue North is more than just the Pearl Theater, there’s going to be new grub happening on North Broad. In addition to the already opened Qdoba, expect to see Koja, Hilal, Nosheri Deli, Pete’s Pizza a tea store and Maui Wowie, a smoothie store opening in the coming months. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]

Sundays seem to be going well for the Reading Terminal Market, the terminal board has voted to extend Sunday hours through March. [Inqlings, Philadelphia Inquirer]

More Openings

Well there seems to be a big end-of-year push to open restaurants. Just this week we’ve seen Rae, upstairs and Loie and Tiffin open earlier this week. Now add Fogo de Chão and Trattoria Alla Costiera to the list. We didn’t realize the Openings section would be getting updated quite this frequently.

The former Millennium Coffee at 212 S 12th Street is now Brew Ha Ha! [City Paper, Feeding Frenzy]

Trattoria Alla Costiera, a Neapolitan BYO is set to open before month’s end at 769 E Passyunk Avenue. [City Paper, Feeding Frenzy]

Delilah Winder’s Bluezette is set to be retooled as Delilah’s. [Icepack, City Paper]

In the same blurb A.D. Amorosi also reports there may be a second Red Sky on the horizon, this one across from Drinkers’ Rittenhouse spot. Could this be the old Little Pete’s at 1904 Chestnut Street? [Icepack, City Paper]

Tiffin.com will soon open Tiffin Store at 710 W Girard Ave. The 30 seat restaurant will serve up simple Indian food. Tiffin by the way means lunch, or any light meal. [Philadelphia Inquirer, Table Talk]
