There are plenty of St. Patrick’s Day events going on. Some even elevate themselves above green beer. Here’s a partial list. We do have one question though. Where can you get some good corned beef and cabbage?
Iron Hill West Chester will be doing St. Patrick’s Day right with a Dry Stout and Irish Red Ale too. And as a special treat they’ll be tapping an aged version of their Wee Heavy. [Iron Hill West Chester]
Victory Brewing Co. is offering $2 Donnybrook Stouts and $5 Fish and Chip dishes. Or for $15 get a Donnybrook Pack of t-shirt and pint glass. [Victory Brewing]
Search out a fine poured pint of Sly Fox O’Reilly’s Stout, we found a good one at Kite & Key. Or try Sly Fox’s Seamus Irish Red, look for it at Bishop’s Collar, Black Sheep, Cherry Street Tavern or Fergie’s. [Sly Fox Beer]
Pub & Kitchen is opening at lunch today and is giving away green “pabbit” shirts. Supplies are limited though. [Pub & Kitchen]

There are a lot of steakhouses in Philly and more on the way. Also, we love grossly oversized portions of beef. So don’t let this beef news bother you.

Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day and as such there are plenty of things to do. Really just too much to list. So we’ll just offer some recommendations on what you oughta do at least once on St. Patrick’s Day.
- Try a stout other than Guinness. We whole heartily recommend Sly Fox’s O’Reilly’s Stout, available at your better bars. Or if you find yourself near the South Philadelphia Taproom definitely try Bell’s Double Cream Stout, simply delicious.
- Ride the Erin Express. Take the free bus service among sixteen bars throughout Center City and University City. The bus is almost as fun as the bars.
- Have a shot with Billy Murphy himself at Murphy’s Irish Pub in East Falls. He might even baptize you.
- Sing “England Get Out of Ireland.”
Eat Irish Potatoes.
- Run the Irish Memorial 5K Run.
- Even if you don’t want to run, at least take some time out of your revelry to visit the Irish Memorial.
- Kiss someone Irish.
