Greetings-
We still don’t have an opening date.  We’re still waiting on our liquor license approval.  Our construction will be completed this week and if our approvals come by the end of the month, we should be able to open in early Sept.  I have a new found awe for the bureaucracy in the Commonwealth.

We don’t think Tom is alone in his “awe” for Pennsylvania bureaucracy.

Pub & Kitchen

Posted by Foobooz on 15th July 2008

Pub and Kitchen

The late Chaucer’s Tabard Inn is going to be re-born Pub & Kitchen this September. Drew Lazor has all the juicy details over at the Clog except the name is of the delicious animal that makes up the Pub & Kitchen’s logo. The concept will keep the causal vibe of Chaucer’s alive while updating the insides. The menu will be inspired by English pub fare and executed by Jonathan McDonald who was the chef just up the street at Snackbar.

Food will be available till 1 am and wine will be under $10 a glass and craft beers like Breckenridge and Sly Fox would be available for between $3 and $5.

New Owners For Chaucer’s

Posted by Foobooz on 6th June 2008

The Beer Lass has the dirt regarding the sale of  Chaucer’s Tabard Inn. Michael Ojeda and Ed Hacket, both alums of the Daniel Stern empire (Gayle and Rae) are looking to take over the 20th and Lombard bar this September. No word on the concept or a name.

The fine folk over at Chaucer’s would like to point out though that they are in fact still open and home to great sidewalk seating, so stop in at least one more time.

Stay tuned for more info as we get it.
