Pub & Kitchen is going country next Tuesday, the 24th of November. Starting at 9pm the 20th and Lombard bar is putting on their ten-gallon hats, slipping into their cowboy boots and celebrating a “Country Delight” night. There will be awful country music like Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Reba McIntire and more (Bring Your Own Ear Plugs) but there will also be $3 canned beers, $6 pints of Sixpoint Righteous Rye from a firken plus a special $14 southern-inspired dinner of fried chicken, mashed potato and kale.

Yesterday the Foobooz Burger Cruise for the First Person Festival set sail and it sure was fun. Thanks to First Person Arts for approaching me for the tour and to everyone who came out. It was an awesome time.

Friday afternoon we received a note that Monday evening Pub & Kitchen would be kicking off the Phillies game with a “shotgun rally” of 100 free cans of Sly Fox Pikeland Pils. We were a bit incredulous. Had a Blackberry been compromised? Was someone pulling our leg? Was Pub & Kitchen losing its mind?
But we checked in over the weekend and it is true. Owner, Ed Hackett wants 100 people on the sidewalk shotgunning cans of Pikeland Pils t 7 tonight. Maybe it’s just the thing the Phillies need to get back on track, it’s certainly worth the try.

Pub & Kitchen’sJonny Mac is preparing a special two-course Japanese Pub dinner menu this weekend using fresh sea urchin and paired with the always delicious Hitachino Nest Ginger beer. There are only 20 dinners available so get there early to satisfy that craving for sea urchin. They say sea urchin is an aphrodisiac.

Pub & Kitchen is kicking off its fall menu this evening. Back on the menu are the fish and chips with mushy peas and also the English onion soup.
Among the other highlights are the Welsh rarebit pub snack for $3, Strub Farm Wagyu meatloaf for $16 and the seasonal gnocchi dish now served with butternut squash, brussel sprouts, pork belly and brown butter for $11.
