City Paper names Philadelphia’s top five open kitchens.
- Audrey Claire
- Dmitri’s
- Little Fish
- ¡Pasion!
- L’Oca
And although these are all fine restaurants and several are among our favorites. This list is incomplete without Striped Bass and Osteria. And speaking of Osteria, Thursday/Friday lunch starts today.

Hundred Dollar Baby goes looking for an answer to winter at Pasion! and finds passion to be the missing ingredient.
All told, with two glasses of wine, tax, and tip, the meal came to $115.91not too bad at all. But I cant shake the feeling that my meal at Pasion! lacked the very quality evident in the name. The food was generally very good, the service was friendly, and the space was as dramatic as ever. But the handle on the front door of the restaurant is an oversized exclamation point, which promises something more than that. Passion may be intangible, but its key to the success of any restaurant. And Pasion! needs more of it these days.
