Tonight and every Thursday at North Bowl you can enjoy $2.50 pints of Kenzinger all night long. Tonight from 6 to 8pm there will also be Philadelphia Brewing Co. giveaways. Maybe you can snag one of those slick new Kenzinger tees.
Foodaphilia checks out bargain bowling at North Bowl on Wednesday night ($2 shoes, $2 games, $2 PBR and $2 tater tots after 10 PM) and also samples the menu.
My favorite thing to munch on at North Bowl is their Mac & Cheese. While not as good as Shannon’s over at A Full Plate, it is delicious in it’s own right. And topped with crushed goldfish cheese crackers, a nice touch.
We here at Foobooz have to be honest, we’re not the biggest fans of New Years. Events are often over-priced, under-served and most frustratingly, overrun by amateurs. Now New Years Day on the other hand…. When you’re out drinking with people on New Years Day, then you know you’re among professionals.
But that’s not to say won’t be going out. It’s just that we aren’t that big on the galas and such, but find a nice dinner out with friends, perhaps at a BYOB, that’s how we prefer to bring in the New Year. But we’ll be up and at it early New Years Day for some real debauchery.
It’s going to get cold and nasty one of these weeks, but luckily it isn’t going to be this week.
Friday North Bowl is hosting Fred Noe, Jim Bean’s grandson and for happy hour you can get $5 Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Jim Beam and Jim Beam Black drinks from 5:30 to 7 PM.
Saturday
Looks like it’ll be a nice day to be in Old City as the first Old City Fall Festival kicks off. Check out our coverage here.
Sunday
The Artful Dodger at Headhouse Square welcomes you back to football season with their annual pig roast Sunday at noon.
$2 goes a lot further on Wednesday and Sunday nights at North Bowl. Shoe rentals, PBRs, Dale’s Pale Ale and Tater Tots are all just $2 from 11 PM to 1 AM.
Have you been bowling at North Bowl yet? From 5-7 you can play for $4 a game, $2 PBRs all night. The $4 games are available every weeknight.
Foobooz hears that Oceanaire, 700 Walnut Street, is open tonight, just understand they’re still in training. Part of tonight’s proceeds go to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Flyers are back on the ice for the first time since cleaning house, so you could head to O’Neals, 3rd and South, and watch and see if they’ve gotten any better.
Check out North Bowl’s menu. Lots of interesting comfort foods to chow on while you knock down some pins. Tater Tots, Mac-n-Cheese, Corn Dogs, Funnel Cake and more!
