Nudos at Naked Chocolate Cafe

Messy and Picky try the sweets at Naked Chocolate Cafe and they’ve become addicted. They can’t cover all the wonderful treats in one post so today they focus on their hot chocolate and nudos, pyramid shaped brownies with frosting on top.

The final word: Don’t worry if there is no place to sit down — grab a stack of treats to take home with you!

Chocolate Has Grown Up

Posted by Foobooz on 1st December 2006

Naked Chocolate Cafe

Hot Chocolate has gone through a renaissance, transforming itself from a kids drink to a rich, sensual, decidedly adult experience.

“While no one was looking, hot chocolate went from Nestle’s Quik to a rich, sensual pleasure,” says Tom Block, who started Naked Chocolate Cafe, a boutique and dessert lounge on Walnut Street offering a thick and luscious chocolate drink that’s like a melted chocolate bar in a cup. The shop opened in August and already has a loyal following.

Shut Up And Taste The Chocolate

Posted by Foobooz on 14th September 2006

Naked Chocolate Cafe has been turning many people into irrational chocoholics. Stacy at Phillyist is no exception.

The last time I went to Naked Chocolate was with a friend, whom I very rudely and pointedly interrupted in mid-conversation with the command, “You need to stop talking right now and try this,” and nudged my bittersweet hot chocolate in his direction. And after trying said chocolate, he didn’t quibble about my manners.

“Chocolate Slurpy” At Naked Chocolate Cafe

Posted by Foobooz on 5th September 2006

Naked Chocolate Cafe

The chocolate fueled buzz around Naked Chocolate Cafe, 1317 Walnut Street, is building. And is it any wonder with items like the “classic” frozen drinking chocolate?

Later, there will be time for the house-made nut barks and demitasses of hot chocolate at Naked Chocolate Cafe, the sleek, tall-windowed, new chocolate salon. But for a sultry evening, try the “classic” frozen drinking chocolate, a lush, chilled chocolate (61 percent Guittard) soup topped with whipped cream in a wide, glass goblet. It’s part dark milkshake, part mousse – a creamy, iced ganache easier spooned than sipped. Makes granita seem PG-rated.

Ken Alan at aroundphilly.com also reports on the sexy goings on at Naked Chocolate Cafe.

The pot de crme sampler may send you into convulsions, not unlike that unforgettable restaurant scene in When Harry Met Sally.

Naked Chocolate Cafe Is Here

Posted by Foobooz on 8th August 2006

The decadent sounding Naked Chocolate Cafe on the 1300 block of Walnut Street opened yesterday, and appropriately, Daily Candy as the dish.

Naked Chocolate Cafe

Naked Chocolate Cafe, a new joint venture from Tom Block, co-creator of Thomas Sweet Ice Cream, and his daughter, Sara Block.

The stylish shop serves a wide variety of chocolates and desserts handmade on the premises. Sit down and sip a hot or frozen drinking chocolate, pop a freshly whipped buttercream truffle, or nibble on heart-healthy dark chocolate piped with antioxidant blueberry, pomegranate, and green tea. Lots of baked goods on the menu, too.

Coupon after the jump.
