Terence Feury, most recently of Maia and formerly of Striped Bass, Le Bernardin and the Ritz-Carlton in DC  is becoming the new chef at Fork. Longtime Fork chef, Thein Ngo is retiring to Vietnam this month. [The Insider]

Bierista, the coffee shop and beer takeout store planned for 15th and Mifflin is now going to be named BREW. Buildout is a month out and coffee up and running shortly afterwards, beer will follow with the liquor license. [Meal Ticket]

Mémé will begin offering a weekly Thursday lunch starting January, 8th.  Just about “any day now,” Mémé will be getting its liquor license  [Meal Ticket]

As a commenter told us last week, Brett Perloff who is a part-owner of Pearl is taking over Monkey Bar. It’ll remain the Monkey Bar for the time being but will be reconceptualized come January. [Meal Ticket]

Get ready for weird dreams about tackling pony-sized unicorns to become commonplace as Philadelphia Distilling, makers of Bluecoat Gin, prepare Vieux Carre Absinthe for sale. [Daily Examiner]

Tampopo’s third location is coming to 44th and Spruce later this winter. [Meal Ticket]

Tiffin expands its delivery area to include East Falls from School House Lane to Indian Queen and Kelly Drive to Henry Avenue. [Tiffin]

The ballyhooed Union Gourmet Market & Cafe in the Western Union Building on Locust has closed up shop after opening back in May.

  • Susanna Foo Gourmet Kitchen is looking for a September opening. The sububan Foo will be located in the Radnor Corporate Center, 555 Lancaster Ave. (Inqlings)
  • Sunday at Brasserie Perrier, diners can bring their own.
  • Christopher Lyons’ Blue Horseshoe at 20th & Ludlow, which always seems to be in flux, is set to become a Mediterranean restaurant/bar named Christophers in September. And his brothers are turning Monkey Bar into something more “clubby.” Guess a name change will be in order. (Icepack)
  • Gavone’s at 10th & Wolf specializes in the third part of the Philadelphia sandwich trinity, the roast pork sandwich. Gavone’s also features a full bar and six flat-screen TVs. Tori’s Brickhouse has been closed since July 1, but is expecting to open on South Street in September. (Feeding Fenzy)
