Trey Popp tries out Miami Cafe on South Street and finds the atmosphere can take you away from Philadelphia but the food is another matter.
For people who like the heavy, unchallenging food that predominates on South Street, Miami Café is a perfectly good place to sit down and eat food that’s not as different as it makes itself sound. But for the rest, South Beach is still a plane ticket away.

This Saturday and Sunday Welcome America presents Taste of Philadelphia this Saturday and Sunday.
Miami Cafe has opened on South Street where they feature plantain flat breads topped with chorizo finished with chipotle crema.
Mantra at 122 S 19th Street has a deal this summer, 3 courses for just $29.

Miami Cafe is set to open around June 11th in the spot that once housed Abilene on South Street. Cuban Sadwiches will be featured heavily as well as fried plantains served with shrimp, chicken or chorizo. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]
