Metropolitan Bakery is turning 15-years old and they are putting together a 15-month calendar chock full of customer anecdotes, fun facts and best-of recipes including everything muffins, cannele and chocolate cookies. Proceeds from the $12 calendar will benefit Philadelphia’s Project H.O.M.E..
Metropolitan Bakery is both a retailer and wholesaler. Their breads are available in more than 90 local restaurants including Pub & Kitchen where they’ve just added salmon pretzel to the bar bite menu. The $3 nibble features Metropolitan’s delicous fennel pretzel.

This Saturday shop and dine for the benefit of
Rittenhouse Square. Ten percent of proceeds from participating businesses will go to the
Friends of Rittenhouse Square, a non-profit organization responsible for the maintenance of Rittenhouse Square.
And mark your calendars, Rittenhouse Row Festival, always one of the best days of spring is set for Saturday, May 3rd.

It looks like the rain has stopped so check out the Favorite Sons and Man Man in Rittenhouse Square at 7. Stop by DiBruno Brothers for cheese, get bread from Metropolitan Bakery and dust off that bottle of wine from your stash, call some friends and head out for a picnic and remind yourself of why you live in a big city. You can’t get this in Vorhees Voorhees.
