Margot closes in Narberth. This bad news is coupled with some good though. Former Taquet chef de cusine Clark Gilbert is taking over the space as an Italian BYOB, Gemelli. [Main Line Dine]

Bertolini’s at the King of Prussia Mall has been shuttered by its corporate overlord Morton’s.

Did you blink? Spring Garden Street’s Siam Lotus reopened for a split second but was shut down by L&I this week.

Main Line Restaurant Guide takes an early look at Margot BYOB in Narberth.

Margot is a lively neighborhood restaurant with original, creative cuisine that belies the location. Although an early visit showed a few flaws, this restaurant should quickly blossom into one of the finest area BYOBs.

The former Carmine’s in Narberth is set to open as Margot tomorrow. Margot will be an modern-American , moderately priced BYOB with an intimate candle-lit atmosphere. .

Details On Margot

Margot

The former Carmine’s Creole Cafe in Narberth is becoming a modern-American BYOB, Margot. Slated to open Saturday, January 6th, 2007.

Margot is Margot McGinley who is opening her first restaurant. Chef David Manion who has experience at O-Bar in West Hollywood and Commander’s Palace in New Orleans will oversee the menu.

Mission Grill, a Southwestern by the people behind the Public House are aiming for a first quarter ‘07 opening at 19th and Arch. [Philadelphia Inquirer, Table Talk]

When Carmine’s Creole Cafe takes up its spot in Bryn Mawr, the Narberth location will become Margot, a moderately priced American BYOB. [Philadelphia Inquirer, Table Talk]

Wrap Shack is set to open its second location, this time on Rittenhouse Square in a spot that’s not quite a shack. Wrap Shack on the Square is set to open in February. [Philadelphia Inquirer, Table Talk]

Snackbar hours continue to evolve as the kitchen now opens at 1 PM. The cafe opens at 7:30 Monday through Saturday, 8 AM on Sundays. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]

The Mayfair Diner is under new ownership but the menu should remain mostly the same “for the time being.” [On the Side, Philadelphia Inquirer]

The Metro today has an interview with the busy Daniel Stern, who opened Rae on Tuesday. He doesn’t see cooking French at Le Bec-Fin as that much different from cooking American at Rae, and he doesn’t seem ready to rest despite opening two restaurants in a year. [Metro, P. 14]
