In a great local tale of man overcoming Mother Nature � or at least sideswiping the old lady � the 4,900 gallons of beer in the Manayunk Brewery�s seven tanks were saved from the Schuylkill�s murky water.

�It�s fine,� brewery owner Mike Rose said yesterday in his swelteringly damp and dark pub. �It�s all fine. The water never reached it.�
