Chefs like cheap eats too. Jose Garces dines at Taqueria Veracruzana. Noble’s Steven Cameron has taken a liking to Mama’s Vegetarian and Taco Loco. Pho at Pho & Café Viet Huong is Lacroix’s Jason Cichonski’s choice. But who admits to heading for Wawa’s “Junior” turkey hoagie.

Mama’s Grill on South Street has a new name, Chickpeas Falafel & Grill. It’s still owned by the Mama’s Vegetarian people though. [The Clog]
Food and Drinq has the Minar Palace menu. They’re promising mid-July but the Time Video sign is still in place and the front really doesn’t look much different from this Google Street View photo. [Food and Drinq]
Molcajete Mixto is closing to install a new hood in the kitchen. Hopefully that’s not a euphemism for closing for good. [The Clog]
Speaking of renovations, the Marathon Grill on the 1300 block of Chestnut will be closed for about 10 days as the popular lunch spot gets an overhaul. [Philly Chit Chat]

Mamas Vegetarian and LaVa Caf has spawned Mamas Grill at 630 South Street, the former home of Tommy Gunns. The Grill should be firing by months end. [Feeding Frenzy, City Paper]
King of Prussia eaters have another option; this one luckily far afield from the Cheesecake Factories of the world, Blue Dolphin has taken over the former Dennys spot next to Ruths Chris Steak House on North Gulph Road. New record at Jims Steaks. Competitive eater “Humble” Bob Shoudt has set the new cheesesteak record at Jims. “Humble” Bob managed to devour 13 sandwiches in an hour and a half. His name will be said in the same revered terms as Alex Friedman and Linda Kuerth, both previous record holders. And for some reason the CBS affiliate in Boston has the video.
