Trey Popp visits New Delhi in West Philadelphia which has recently been redone and can’t say enough good things about the lunch buffet. Unlimited naan would be enough for us but read his description of the rest of the buffet.
the lunch buffet proved its worth. The dishes are familiar, but the colors shine and the flavors pop. A creamy navratan korma is a kaleidoscope of green zucchini, orange carrots and pale broad beans swimming in a sunshine-yellow sauce. The meats are tender, there’s a tangy sauce for the samosas and there’s mango ice cream for dessert if the cashew-studded rice pudding doesn’t tempt you — or even if it does.

Today’s edition of The Bite is
too small to read online (UPDATE:
Here’s the full text) so we’ll summarize.
The Market at Comcast Center has opened, providing Center City office workers with a food court full of lunch options.
Underneath the Comcast Center you’ll find local mainstays like Bucks County Coffee, the Mexican Post, Termini Brothers and DiBruno Brothers. LaScala’s which has a location at 8 7th and Chestnut has a real brick oven at their Comcast Center stand turning out fresh pizza for the cubicle crowd.
Another big spot in the market is Under the C where you can find fresh gazpacho with crab or shrimp, seafood gumbo grilled ahi tuna and traditional fish and chips. You can also grab something out of their seafood case and be half way to dinner at home.
Back up above ground you can find some steep prices to dine alongside the dancing fountains in the at the Plaza Cafe. Like $25 for Maine Lobster salad sandwich stiff. But what did you expect, it’s Georges Perrier?
Oh and whether you go high-end or low for lunch, do yourself a favor and check out the video board in the Comcast Center lobby. It’s really well done.

Trey Popp finds the food at
Cafe Estelle can’t miss no matter how tough it is to fine the actual storefront.
I didn’t taste a single thing at Café Estelle that wasn’t done just about perfectly. The food, like the atmosphere, is casual, but it’s made with unusual skill and care. A panini filled with dry-cured ham, manchego cheese and a splendid pearl-onion relish was the best hot sandwich I’ve had in ages. A cherry scone broke apart just as a good scone should, and was plenty generous with the cherries.
