NachosNY.com is just what it sounds like, a nacho site out of New York. They review nachos and offer “Chos Before Hoes” t-shirts. Lee Frank who runs the site is originally from Philadelphia and is going to be hosting a “curated” nacho crawl here on Saturday, November 28th. $10 will get you nachos at the Royal Tavern, Taqueria Veracruzana La Lupe and Cantina Los Caballitos.
RSVPs are a necessity. Email to lee@nachosny.com.

The City Paper prepares its top five list of burritos in Philadelphia and at number two is a breakfast burrito from a coffee shop? Color us incredulous.
- La Lupe
- Mugshots Coffeehouse and Cafe
- Pico de Gallo
- Santa Fe Burrito Company
- Machismo Burrito Bar

Mac & Cheese tries La Lupe in the Italian Market for a vegetarian Mexican dinner and comes away disappointed.
Meat eaters may fare better at La Lupe, and taquerias in general, but we were cheesed out and left feeling gross after our takeout experience. Probably should have ordered the vegetable burrito, but the service that night was just too poor and the food unimpressive to go back and give La Lupe another try.

UWISHUNU has certainly made a splashy entrance onto Philadelphia’s blog scene and they’ve given some good suggestions in food and drink.
Here are some of the best of the last week.

USA Today looks in on South Philadelphia and finds…. Tacos! Yes even USA Today has found that Philadelphia has more than just cheesesteaks, pretzels and water ice.
Taqueria La Veracruzana, La Lupe, Prima Pizza Taqueria, El Jarocho and Plaza Garibaldi are all highlighted as adding some flavor to South Philadelphia.
