Super cool news coming from
Tom Baker who shutdown his
Heavyweight Brewing in May of 2006. He isn’t
headed to New York after all. He’s going to open a brew pub,
Earth Bread + Brewery just down from
McMenamin’s on Germantown Avenue.
“We have a signed lease and will be moving our equipment into place as soon as possible,” Baker said. “We also plan to relocate our residence to the area and hope to become a part of the neighborhood and a destination site for beer lovers.”

When Heavyweight Brewing shut down there was hope that it would be reborn in Pennsylvania as a brew pub. But unfortunately that isn’t the case as Tom Baker and Peggy Zwerver have announced plans to open a brew pub in Nyak, New York. Oh well, it still sounds like a neat place and we wish them the best of luck.
