Drinking And Dining With David Moore

Posted by Foobooz on 15th April 2008

David Moore has a couple recent blog posts about dining out with a bottle of wine. And when David Moore writes about pairing wine and food, we listen. Moore, who owns Moore Brothers Wine recently dined at Blackbird Eating Establishment and Fuji in Haddonfield.

Much Ado About Fuji

Posted by Foobooz on 24th October 2007

Fuji

It takes something special to get Kirsten Henri to head to Jersey. Haddonfield’s buzzed about Fuji is perfectly fine but isn’t one of those spots worth the trek.

Fuji feels very … nice. It has an intimate vibe despite being hidden in the back of a Georgian-style shopping mall in the middle of Haddonfield. Water trickles over large river stones in wall-mounted fountains, the sushi bar is well-lit and attractively arranged, and the staff is very friendly.

So what brings Fuji out of the realm of nice and into extra-special? Not much. Everything was perfectly pleasant, but nothing indicated this was a restaurant worth braving the Jersey roads.

Three Bells For Fuji

Posted by Foobooz on 6th August 2007

Fuji Japanese Restaurant

Craig LaBan finds there’s no need to worry that Fuji Japanese Restaurant may have faltered after its move.

I was pretty certain earlier on, somewhere between the caviar-crowned tuna tartare in smoked dashi broth and the seared scallop with foie gras and duck posed over a sunburst of kabocha pumpkin puree, that Fuji’s mojo was intact.
