Our favorite happy couple, Mark and Audrey head to West Philadelphia’s Baltimore Avenue for a truly cool cheap date. The pair get iced coffee at
Satellite Cafe, then
Vientiane for a Southeast Asian dinner, followed by free Friday night jazz in Cedar Park. They end the evening with cheap beers at the dive bar in the back of
Dahlak, an Ethiopian restaurant on Baltimore Avenue.

Directly across from the Yards Brewing Co. it isn’t surprising that Atlantis: The Lost Bar has a lot of Yards on tap. At $3 a pint, it’s also a good deal and on Fridays from 5 to 7 that deal gets better as prices drop to $2 a pint.

Usually on the first Friday of every month
DiBruno Brothers and a local brewer get together for a spirited time of beer and cheese. But with New Years stuff the beer and cheese get together was pushed back until tomorrow. Brewmaster
Brian O’Reilly of
Sly Fox will be providing the beer; bringing their O’Reilly’s Stout, Phoenix Pale Ale, Dunkel Lager, Odyssey Imperial Pale Ale, Saison and Ichor (an Abbot style Quadruple) to the Center City location of DiBruno Brothers. The event goes from 6 to 8 PM and admission is $45 a person. Call 215-665-9220, Ext. 237 to make reservations.

Each First Friday
DiBruno Brothers skips the whine and cheese of Old City and instead brings together beer and cheese in delicious fashion.
DiBruno invites local brewers to a beer and cheese tasting that’s fun and fabulous. The experts at the cheesemonger paradise match beer to cheese and the good times roll like a wheel of cheese.
Every first Friday at DiBruno Bros. Center City location, $40 a person.
