Friday

Fish has added a late night lounge menu to its offerings. It’s available every night till 1am. Late night lobster grilled cheese. That could happen.

Saturday

Rain or shine the Bloktoberfest is a go, so stop over for a beer and some of the city’s best food trucks.

In New Jersey Flying Fish is welcoming Iron Hill to the state with a Brewers Reserve event featuring beers from the two brewers at the Iron Shade in Maple Shade. Starts at 1pm.

In the evening there are a few tickets remaining to Spinal Tapas’ Must Eats: The Event at Philly KitchenShare. Order them up right here.

Sunday

Resurrection Ale House is kicking of its brunch this weekend. Brunch is served on both Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Stop in early to try a taste of Schneider Weise pouring from a wooden cask.

Paesano’s in the Italian Market will have an expanded menu. Look for tripe with egg and a Paesano Burger topped with fries, balsamic vineagr, garlic mayo, pancetta and gorgonzola dolce. We thought we were done salivating over burgers but maybe just this one more. [The Insider]

Prohibition Taproom opens for lunch starting today.

Pommes Frites in Old City. The restaurant eating space at Chestnut and Strawberry is looking to break the hex with European Republic, an off-shoot of a popular Long Island fry spot. [The Insider]

Flying Monkey’s Locust Street location opened Monday. We will continue to not refer to it as Flying Monkey Deuce.

Mike’s Steaks has replaced Frank’s Old Philly-Style Sandwiches in the Comcast Center. Mike’s offers burgers, hoagies and hot dogs in addition to steak sandwiches.

Fuel has opened at 1917 E Passyunk. Q102’s Rocco Cima is the man behind the 500 calories or less storefront. [Meal Ticket]

Little Fish’s Mike Stollenwerk shares some details about his upcoming fish with Drew Lazor. Expect it to be different than the Bella Vista BYOB as there will be a liquor license and the menu will be split into raw, cold, hot and sweet categories. [Meal Ticket]

Little Fish Begets Bigger Fish

You had to assume once Little Fish was named one of the best seafood restaurant’s in the country by Bon Appetit that owner and chef Mike Stollenwerk would be looking for bigger waters. And it was confirmed today by Michael Klein that Stollenwerk is taking over the old Astral Plane location at 1708 Lombard Street with fish. The liquour licensed restaurant will more than double the size of Bella Vista’s Little Fish.

Look for the first tables to be served the week after Labor Day.
