Bridgid’s is set to tap its “down draft,” a gravity tap where beer flows from the third to the first floor creating one smooth pour.
To celebrate they’re going to tap a 5-liter cask (20 pints) of Yards Love Stout followed by Yards ESA.
It all starts at tomorrow at 7 and you can of course hang out to make it a night with the Phillies.

Starting this evening Fairmount goes French. It’s the annual Bastille Day Festival and it kicks off this evening with a French Fling Bar Crawl. Seven bars will be offering $3 Kronenbourg 1664s.
Tomorrow, many of the neighborhood’s restaurants go French with themed menus and Trio featuring two tasting menus, one for the Bourgeoisie and one for the Aristocrats.
Saturday marks the big street festival, which is always a good time for eating, drinking and of course, storming the Bastille. If you haven’t rushed Bastille stand-in, Eastern State Penitentiary you owe it to yourself to be there at 5:30. And in a Philadelphia twist, Marie Antoinette will yell “let them eat Tastykakes!”
Recover from all that revolution on Sunday with French Champagne brunches at participating restaurants.

We know about wheat beer mimosas, summer shandys and spicy micheladas. But we still cannot help but be a bit incredulous about these new “beer drinks” being offered by London Grill.
Among the special drinks:
- London Shandy, Fuller’s ESB, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and lemon
- Sierra Red Eye, Sierra Nevada pale ale with a shot of spicy house-made Bloody Mary mix
- Flower Bud, Budweiser, crème de violette and St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- Bank Robber, Stoudt’s Willie Sutton lager, house-infused green tea vodka and Irish Mist
- Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em, Victory Prima Pils with mescal, chipotle vodka, lime and a salt rim
- How Now Brown Cow, Brooklyn brown ale with Nocello and espresso vodka
All told there will be 14 rotating options and prices will range from $5 to $8.
Yes, incredulous, but also intrigued.

The inventive sushi served at Umai Umai makes the Fairmount spot a worthy destination for Craig LaBan and you but the cooked food dissapoints.
But the 38-seat Umai Umai is really all about the magic that McCoy methodically spins behind his sushi bar. His creations aren’t all entirely successful. But he displays such individuality in a town replete with maki-copycats that the most important answer, if you’re seeking a distinctive sushi experience, is a resounding yes.
