Copa Miami Kaput

Posted by Foobooz on 3rd May 2007

Copa Miami
Things are not looking good for Copa Miami as the doors were closed yesterday and today. Two signs in the window spell out the doom. One says Copa Miami is closed permanently and a second says this space for lease.

Feeling Neighborly

Posted by Foobooz on 4th December 2006

South Street’s Pontiac Grille and Copabanana are both feeling neighborly, offering discounts for locals.

On Thursdays at the Pontiac you can get 15% off your bill with proof of local residency.

If you pick up a copy of Key to Philadelphia this week, distributed for free throughout Center City, you’ll find a coupon on the back cover good for $10 off food and drink with any purchase of $20 or more at the original Copabanana.

Two good deals for people living near South Street.

Mad For Mojitos

Posted by Foobooz on 18th August 2006

Mojito

Behind a marketing push by Bacardi the mojito is swinging into the mainstream and Craig LaBan takes a look at them at Copa Miami.

Copa uses sugar cane as swizzle sticks for its top-shelf mojitos, which now come in apple, orange-mango and watermelon. Some use flavored rum; some get a splash of fruit puree. Curry says his bartenders are working on a mojito topped with champagne, sort of like a Bellini, for its forthcoming Sunday brunch. Another variation – called Miami Spice – will use spiced rum.
