That’s Heavy Man

Posted by Foobooz on 27th October 2009

Bridgid’s is set to tap its “down draft,” a gravity tap where beer flows from the third to the first floor creating one smooth pour.

To celebrate they’re going to tap a 5-liter cask (20 pints) of Yards Love Stout followed by Yards ESA.

It all starts at tomorrow at 7 and you can of course hang out to make it a night with the Phillies.

Are You Ready For Some Football?

Posted by Foobooz on 10th September 2009

The kickoff of the NFL season is upon us as the Steelers and Titans face off this evening. Oddly there isn’t a football special to be seen in Philadelphia Weekly or City Paper this week. But hey, that’s why there’s the Internet!

Here’s what we know that’s going on:

Tonight, Jose Pistola’s is kicking off the NFL season with Troegs Brewing Co. There will be a firkin of Nugget Nectar, Dead Reckoning Porter and even a keg of Mad Elf for the night.

Also on each Sunday during the NFL season Jose’s will be offering, $3 Sly Fox Pils and Pale Ale cans plus $3 Ithaca Apricot Wheat. They’re also introducing the “Surf & Turf Bloody Mary.” A be a gourmet hot dog, wing and breakfast taco menu will round out the offerings.

Misconduct Tavern is doing an NFL Club this season. Join the club for $30 and you are entitled to a special menu of apps, sandwiches and beer packages at a special price of $25. For instance you could get balsamic glazed ribs, Misconduct Chicken Cheesesteak and 4 pints of Kenzinger. You do more that two weeks and you’ll be ahead. Not a terrible way to build up some loyalty. And of course the menu will change so you won’t get bored.

Bridgid’s has a Longtrail Brewmaster Promo tonight. They’ve got Imperial Porter, Belgian White, Coffee Stout and Double IPAs for just $4.

Update: The Piazza at Schmidt’s is throwing a big party for the Eagles/Carolina game. It starts at 11am when Vino kicks off its $15 sandwich and drink deal. The game will be televised on the big screen in the Piazza and you can even rent a cabana for you and up to 10 friends. After the game ends, ?uestlove will be DJ-ing the last of the season’s Sundae parties.

Bridgid’s Gets Some Love

Posted by Foobooz on 14th January 2009

Fairmount’s Bridgid’s is a good spot that combines tasty food, with good prices and great beer. Phoodie.info highlights the $5 Bowl of Chili and beer special. They can keep their Miller High Life but we’d gladly wash down the chili with Yards Brawler or Sly Fox Dunkel Lager.

And today, Meal Ticket excitedly exclaims that you should eat Bridgid’s brunch “immediately.”

Kick The Keg At Bridgid’s

Posted by Foobooz on 6th January 2009

Have you ever felt that sense of accomplishment at a kegger or even a bar when that keg kicks and spews out its last gasp of foamy goodness? If that doesn’t sound like complete insanity, read on as Bridgid’s has a Kick the Keg Recession Special.

When the second handle at Bridgid’s kicks, the person they’re pulling that draft for gets a $25 gift certificate. To further entice you to come in and help kick some kegs the second tap is either $4 or $5 and a dollar off after midnight.

Great Pumpkin In Fairmount

Posted by Foobooz on 23rd October 2008

The spirit of the great pumpkin will be flowing through the taps of Bridgid’s in Fairmount.  This weekend there will be seven pumpkin beers on draft including Southern Tier, Southhampton, Dogfish Head, Wolaver’s Organic, New Holland and Elysian.

Pair the pumpkin beers with a three course, $25 pumpkin-centric menu that will include the likes of a Poor Man’s Beef Wellington with Pumpkin Demi Glace and Pumpkin Mousse Cannolis.

If you bring your own pumpkin they’ll carve it up and fill it with the beer of your choice!
