Avram Hornik of Lucy’s hat Shop, Noche, Drinker’s Pub and Drinker’s Tavern, etc. is looking to open a brick oven pizzeria at 39th and Chestnut. The name is tentatively Duo, the time frame is August. [The Insider]

Darling’s Parktown Place will be coming to 22nd and the Parkway. The Continetal fare will be the work of Harry Arnold who also owns the two Darling Cafes in town. [Philadelphia Magazine]

Friday

  • Free beer and rum at Sailor Jerry’s tonight starting at 6:30.
  • Latin themed block party at the White Dog Cafe tonight.

Saturday

  • The Reading Terminal is hosting an ice cream festival starting at 10 AM. Scream for ice cream from Bassetts, Capogiro Gelato, Chilly Philly Ice Cream, The Franklin Fountain, Fisher’s Ice Cream, and Bellissimo Gelato.
  • There’s a weekend happy hour at 1601. $4 Mojitos, $3 Stoli Drinks, $2 Victory Prima Pils and $2 Appetizers from 4 to 7 PM.
  • Drink with marsupials at the Brew at the Zoo happening at the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown.
