We’ve got a new food truck on the scene starting today. The bright red Hub Bub Coffee truck is hanging out at 38th and Spruce weekdays and should be rolling around town on weekends.
They’ve got the much praised Stumptown Coffee from Portland Oregon and treats including a Rice-Krispy type deal from Pub & Kitchen among other treats.

Koo Zee Doo has opened on 2nd Street between Spring Garden and Fairmount. The BYOB is named for the phonetic spelling of cozida a Portuguesa, a traditional Portuguese stew. The menu will of course be Portuguese and feature small bites, soups, salads, family style specialties and a section dedicated to grilled meats.

Square 1682 is the new restaurant at the base of the Palomar Hotel at 17th and Sansom.The name is inspired by William Penn who founded Philadelphia in 1682 and his plan for a “green countrie towne” comprised of five squares.

Four wheel coffee is coming to the streets. Hub Bub Coffee rolls out next week with Stumptown Coffee and Rice Krispy treats from Pub & Kitchen. And of course Hub Bub has Twitter. [Restaurant Club]

Marty Grims is set to open Chew Man Chu on Wednesday, October 28th. It’ll be classic Asian dishes prepared by chef Wong Ophaso. Ophaso has experience around the world in French and Asian restaurants.
Muffaletta, fried oyster po boys, beignets and more ‘Nalins cuisine will be available at Beck’s Cajun Cafe at the Reading Terminal Market.

A tipster gives us a heads-up that a Capogiro is looking to open at 227-229 South Street in a portion of the old Chef’s Market. The information comes from the South Street Headhouse District meeting agenda which has a zoning variance for the gelateria on the agenda.
Also among the new business is a BODHI Coffee Shop variance at 410 S 2nd Street.

Sweetie’s Pie Diner opens today at 1822 Spring Garden Street. It’s an all-vegetarian menu of sweet and savory pies.
The pies are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All come with a soup or salad and are made fresh with local organic ingredients. The savory pies top out at $9.50 and the weekend brunch pies are just $7.50.
