Stella Blu in West Conshohocken is closed for extensive renovations. Look for the restaurant to open with a larger bar and new layout by early December. In the meanwhile many of Stella Blu’s favorite recipes are available down the street at sister restaurant, Gypsy Saloon.
In permanent closing news, Crescent City has set on South Street. The 7,000 square foot restaurant had been for sale since at least June. The asking price was $1 million for the furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as the liquor license. Rent was $9,500 a month. No word on whether a sale was completed or they just closed up.

We read the reviews so you don’t have to, South Philly Review visits Crescent City.
Crescent City on South Street may not be affordable enough to be your regular spot, but it makes “a lovely place for a celebration.” Make sure you try “three pan-seared jumbo diver scallops placed on a pool of truly divine, lightly seasoned brown sauce.” Although an appetizer, they might make a fine main course.
