Michael Klein reports that Stephen Starr has taken over Rat’s Restaurant in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. Former culinary director for Jose Garces and US Bocuse d’Or representative Kevin Sbraga is in as chef.

National Accolades For Philadelphia

A number of Philadelphia restaurants and chefs have recently received national recognition.
Esquire’s list of top 20 new restaurants includes two Philadelphia restaurants, Michael Solomonov’s Zahav and Jose Garces’ Distrito. Garces is on the list twice as his Chicago restaurant, Mercat a la Planxa also made the grade.

Facepainting For Chefs?

Chocolate With Every Course

Kevin Sbraga, chef de cuisine at the Ritz-Carlton’s Grill has created a special Valentine’s day menu where each course features chocolate. The chocolate dinner is available through February for $45 per person.
