Is This an Eyeball Bender From The Past?

Posted by Foobooz on February 5th, 2010

The year was 1901, the street was torn up and the Police were posing in front of this swinging doored saloon. But what is it in 2010? We initially thought it was Johnny Brenda’s but the photograph says it was down the block at Girard and Shackamaxon. There certainly are some similarities between the buildings and Johnny Brenda’s but also some dissimilarities too, namely the rounded corner that JB’s has today. So what do you think? Could this be the same building, 109 years later?

These aren’t the same. Look at the window spacing and JB’s is missing the chimney in the back right.

      Johnny Brendas

Sean’s right, and if you look at girard and shackamaxon (i love that name), the building is clearly the same.

    4. Ryan Says:

it is definitely the building at the NE corner of Girard and Shackamaxon…
