Wing Guide

Posted by Foobooz on December 2nd, 2009

KONGwingsWEBAlmost nothing can get a conversation going faster than discussing favorite wings. Today Philadelphia Weekly publishes its field guide to wings. Only a couple of the usual suspects are mentioned. Those making the cut are Devil’s Alley, Chifa, Kong, Memphis Taproom, Supper, Varga Bar.

The categories:

  • B Buffalo Style
  • O Bone Out
  • $ Expensive
  • L Large portion
  • G Go back for seconds

What wings would you add?

Jose Pistolas for the Wingos Grandes, their others are just okay. And the Wingos Grandes should be accompanied by a Bell’s Two Hearted

These really aren’t wings in the traditional sense, but the “Pig Wings” at El Camino Real are amazing, not only because of the pork shank, but the sauce is great too. (They should use it for their traditional wings). As a Philadelphia implant, I have been disappointed with the wing selection here. But I often don’t travel outside my Nolibs location. It’s like I’m stuck on my own artistic little island.

Tangier at 17th & Lombard. Admittedly I have not been there for a while but they are/were great. The closest to the Anchor Bar I have had.

Wow. This is their “field guide” to wings? It’s so, um, extensive.
