Weekend

Posted by Foobooz on November 27th, 2009

Friday

Been shopping at the Cherry Hill Mall or elsewhere in New Jersey? Head to Iron Hill Maple Shade for some fine beer.

Saturday

Hub Bub Coffee will be east of the Schuylkill starting at 9am in front of Pub & Kitchen.

The Philadelphia Brewing Co. is swinging opening its doors for its annual Holiday Open House. A donation is requested to benefit the Flat Iron Wildcats program.

Are you crawling? RSVP for the Nacho Crawl that kicks of at 3pm in South Philadelphia.

Sunday

In more Philadelphia Brewing Co. fun it’s the annual Eagles vs Redskins Pig Roast at the Artful Dodger. The pig comes from Cannuli’s so you know it’s good.

Nope, don’t head to Iron Hill brewery. My wife and I went there last week, and the burgers were blah, the salads were blah, the BEER was blah. A light lager beer? Really? That’s what you’re pushing? Cripes! Really, they had only one beer that was decent, and even then, I didn’t pick up a growler to go. I ALWAYS pick up a growler for home when I visit a brewpub, but Iron hill totally failed.

The server was ham-handed and treated us like we were beer-morons. She kept getting right into my face to explain everything. Everyone there seemed 70 years of age or older. The crowd was positively mothballs and prune juice.

Save your money and go to a real brewpub!
