   Haven’t been out for Restaurant Week and I don’t plan to go. I did however talk to the hostess at Table 31 who made it sound as though the entire waitstaff dreads it. Lots of obnoxious people who don’t know how to act at a nice restaurant.

   I had dinner at Zahav last night. To no surprise, it was excellent. Waitstaff were great again, despite the Restaurant Week nonsense.

   We went to Zahav last year for Restaurant Week! What a spread. For $35 we were absolutely stuffed by the end.

   Went to Chifa last night. Party of 4. 20 plates. Service was good even though there were some mix-ups. Stuffed by the end as well.

   Interesting, Roland! I went to Tinto and also had very good service despite some mix-ups (twice we received duplicate items…not that anyone was complaining). As usual, the Garces staff never made me feel like it was anything but an ordinary night and they were tipped as though I paid the regular rates.

   Looking forward to Zahav next week.

   We went to Le Bec Fin last night and were disappointed that what we’d heard about their restaurant week was true. Pretty good food, pretty bad service–no silverware for quite a while, rushed through the meal then suddenly our waitress was mia when we were ready for the check, mediocre dessert. It’s a “deal” relative to their regular prices, of course, but I’ve been much happier with my meal (and felt like I got my money’s worth) at other restaurant week spots in the past (Tinto, for one).

   Went to Supper last night on South Street and had a wonderful meal! We had a big group, but they took care of us and everything was delicious.
