Tale of the Tape: Meritage Redone

Meritage reopens today at 5 after an intense 10-day overhaul that doubled the bar area and transformed the dining area.

Space

  • New color scheme combining two yellows
    • Tuscan Sunrise
    • Tuscan Sunset
  • Hardwood floors in dining room
  • Butcher block tabletops
  • Artwork features women, a tribute to the restaurants female owners and chef
  • 50 seat dining room
  • Bar area doubled by removing wine storage from bar

Food

  • Items range from $2 to $21
  • Anne Coll came on-board in July
    • Former Chef de Cuisine at Susanna Foo
  • Menu split into 3 sections:
    • Snacks
    • Small Plates
    • Large Plates
  • Highlights include:
    • Spiced wonton chips with a Chinese eggplant caviar
    • Tuna tartare with soy wasabi foam, organic Oh micro greens
    • Brined and roasted Giannone chicken with brussel sprouts, Chinese sausage hash, star anise sauce
  • Full Menu

Drink

  • Wine list, 50 under $50
  • Summer Rosé selections include:
    • Guigal Cotes du Rhone 2006 Rhone Valley ($36)
    • Sauvion d’Anjou 2009 Loire Valley ($39)
  • Reserve Selections still available
