Kong: Tale of the Tape

KongIt’ll be up in lights on Broadway: Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World – King Kong (1933)

Kong in Northern Liberties may not be aiming to the 8th wonder of the world but the sophomore effort from Bistro 7’s Michael O’Halloran has been eagerly anticipated.

The former Sovalo will feature Hong Kong street food and affordable  dumplings, buns and bowls.

The Space

The Food

  • Described as Chinese Street food
  • Inspired by the dai pai dong street carts of Hong Kong.
  • All items under $17
  • Menu broken down into categories:
    • Dim Sum
    • Dumplings
    • Buns
    • Noodle Bowls
    • Rice Bowls
  • Highlights include:
    • Chili grilled squid
    • Salt and pepper softshell crab
    • Honey-glazed Chinese bacon
    • Three-way pork dumplings
    • Peking Duck buns
    • Forever-braised lamb noodle bowl
  • Full Menu

The Drink

  • 5 Beers on draft including a rice ale
  • Heavily Asian bottled beer selection
  • Selection of sparkling, white and red wine by glass and bottle
  • Wine tops out at $11 per glass and under $50 per bottle
