Center City Sips Debuts Tonight

Tonight is the kickoff of Center City Sips, Center City’s happiest hour with more than 100 bars and restaurants offering $4 cocktails, $3 wines, $2 beers and half-price appetizers tonight and every Wednesday throughout the summer. And for the first time, this year some establishments are offering a 15% dinner discount after 7pm.
But where to go? Whose deal is best?
This deal looks hard to beat. Chifa is offering Allagash White as a $2 beer and pork belly buns for half off.

Apparently lots of people read foobooz! Went to Chifa with my wife planning on getting the bar deal and then dinner and expecting a crowd, but we were seated in the bar dining area and more or less lost in a sea of people crowding around the bar drinking not just the $2 beers but every beer on tap until, 15 minutes after I ordered a drink, I was informed that all the kegs were kicked and I had to pick from the bottle list. Word of warning, at least tonight, if you want the CCS deal you have to stand at the bar and wait for it; sitting in the bar dining area doesn’t qualify.
Chifa had a lot of kinks to work out tonight, but I would imagine subsequent weeks will be more successful as the staff figures out how to handle the crowds whose douchiness leads me to assume that Olde City’s menace is spreading down Chestnut like kudzu.
