Death&Co215

Posted by Foobooz on May 12th, 2009

New York’s Death & Company might just be planning a spot in Philadelphia. According to Down By The Hipster and a commenter, the word is that a similar place is coming to Philadelphia. It’ll be called Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company and if a commenter is to be believed, it’ll be heading into the Bar Noir Space on 18th Street.

The Illadelph has some more thoughts on the matter.

UPDTATE: New York Magazine’s Grub Street has confirmation from Death & Co.’s David Kaplan that they’re headed to Philadelphia. [Grub Street]

This is exciting if true. However, I don’t see a spot in the old Bar Noir location having the same allure as Death & Co. The whole underground speakeasy feel with bouncers who only let those in with a passcode is what makes it fun. Either way, overpriced amuse bouche for all!

bar noir is the spot from what i’ve heard. that’s the word.

Death & Co no longer uses passwords – seems most places that try this give it up after awhile.

  4. a Says:

death and co never used a password.
