Beer Week Starts Friday

Posted by Foobooz on March 2nd, 2009

pbw-hammer-of-gloryTrying to wrap our  beer-soaked brains around Beer Week makes our heads spin like we’ve had several too many Belgian-style Tripels.

Luckily others are trying to make sense of the 672 events, 30+ brewers, 5 major festivals and rivers of beer.

  • Joe Sixpack is looking forward to the smoked beer and bbq festival at Yards. [Beer Radar]
  • The Beer Lass makes a list of her can’t miss events for Philadelphia Weekly. [Philadelphia Weekly]
  • Yards and Iron Hill combine to make a rare Polish beer. [Beer Yard]
  • City Paper’s Drew Lazor will be hosting a beer and cheese competition at the Sidecar on March 6th.
  • UWISHUNU takes a crack at breaking events down by neighborhood. [UWISHUNU]
  • Philadelphia Brewing Goes to the Imperial for the big event. [Beer Yard]

Don’t forget the Brewer’s Plate this Sunday!

Bill Covaleski, of Victory Brewing, came up with the idea years ago as a benefit for the work we do at the non-profit Fair Food. This is our MAIN fundraiser for the year!

Check out http://www.thebrewersplate.org/welcome.html, the main information page. You can still buy tickets, but by the day of the event they usually sell out, so don’t wait!

    See you there!
