Barclay Goes Pubbing

Barclay Prime is launching a new menu exclusively for its bar and lounge. The new pub menu will feature gourmet takes on bar food bringing pretzels, wings and mac and cheese to the luxe steakhouse. The new menu kicks off Friday. Of course the high-end steak menu Barclay is known for is still available as well.

House-made Pretzels served with Dijon mustard aioli – $9

I doubt it. With all the money he put into Barclay I don’t see why he would want to spend all the money needed to make it a pub. The bar is pretty small in Barclay prime, so he would atleast need to make that way bigger. I don’t even think they have beer on ap, so they would need to add that.
What he is probably doing is just trying offer a lower price point for the bar/lounge area in the front to keep the place full. As far as I remember therr aren’t too many items on the current menu that are good for snacking on in the lounge. Sure they have sliders, but not much else.
Also, I bet the margins on the pretzel bites and the $20 burger are way higher than his margins on the steaks. Smart move all around.

Yeah, I can’t imagine Barclay going anywhere. If one of his steakhouses closes, it’ll be Butcher and Singer, it’s nowhere near as good as Barclay and costs almost as much.
