Union Trust Menu

Posted by Foobooz on February 14th, 2009

Union Trust has swung its doors wide and we have the opening day menu, complete with the option of a vertical steak tasting featuring four long bone ribeyes aged 56, 49, 42 and 35 days, cooked to specification and split four ways.

A 12 oz filet is priced at $45 and the 28 oz long bone dry-aged ribeye tops out the menu with a  price of $94. The rest of the menu finds oysters, clams, caviar, plus various options of chops, bones, ribs and fish with some intriguing sounding starters.

Ahem. Seems the Waygu @ a buck fidy(glass raised to Oskar Blues) is the pricest on the menu. Food sounds interesting. I wonder what beer will be served there. I know a few I’d like to recommend.

  2. slowdown Says:

150 bucks for a waygu strip is pretty damn cheap!

is it better than a Prime Dry aged strip? Not for my money.

  3. Don Corlione Says:

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!! Their Bone in Filet is $15 more then Del Frisco’s. Their Wagyu strip (16 oz) is $150, Del’s has a Wagyu, long bone in rib-eye (32 oz) for $100. Do you really want to buy a lesser product for a third as much? How stupid do these people think we, the collective WE, are? Sockeye Salmon? Now? It’s out of season, yet they have it on the menu for $27, it’s been out of season for the past 6 months. This means they’re selling 6 month old, frozen salmon (that would cost you or I 5 bucks at Trader Joe’s) for $27. BOTTOM LINE: They should have their servers greet you with a bottle of lube, this way the raping goes easier. But, at lest they have a great location … NOT!!

i never thought The Don had a such passion for steakhouses and what the collective “we” need and shouldn’t pay for…relax francis

  5. slowdown Says:

Yeah DON, chill out. It’s just a steakhouse. If you want great prices and fresh local food, check out one of Phillys many badass BYO’s

    And, Stop Using “NOT!” please.

You have just made me a fan of Union Trust, out of Spite.

  6. Allison Says:

Of course Don is assuming that we all know that Del Frisco’s is the ONLY other steakhouse in town. If that post was meant to be pro-Del’s it failed miserably. Don’t quit your day job Don.

  7. Shudder Says:

Well, personal opinions aside, Don is correct about the pricing–RIDICULOUS. And, the sockeye is out of season. So what? Maybe some goofs in town will actually enjoy paying so much for frozen fish….stranger things have happened.

  8. Rse Says:

Is Del serving prime or choice?

  9. BBQ God Says:

Hey Don… and all the other “Fish Experts” You are better off eating frozen than fresh anyhow. I would much rather have a piece of “Flash Frozen” tuna than a piece from a boat that went out on a monday caught that tuna on tuesday and returned to port on friday to deliver the “FRESH FISH” to your local hang out…..Unless you catch it…It aint fresh my boy. Flash frezzing has come a long long way..most larger fish are cut and frozen before they even know they are dead. I have been on several Jap boats, very clean..very high tech, and you would also be shocked at how much sashimi is frozen.
    Good Eats.
And Don…how do you know that UT doesn’t get their Waygu Directly from Japan, BIG BIG BIG difference in American Waygu and the Original Jap.

  10. MCaraffa Says:

This restaurant apparently doesn’t have the “No heart, no soul, no service!” policy in place or its owner wouldn’t proudly pose for a picture with a sociopath like Michael Vick. (See Philyy.com for photo)

Dog owners eat there at your own risk.
