During restauant week many places won't let you not participate in the price fix, so we basically have a hard time eating anywhere the way we want. I find that everytime a restaurant has some kind of "special" whether it be a holiday menu of some sort, a wine or beer promo, or anything that makes the menu look like you're getting a deal, it usually disappoints in some way. With that said, I did have a fantastic restaurant week meal at Lolita a year or two ago. And I would like to try some others, but it's usually just too much food. Oh, and the Lobsterfest special at Bistro Romano is terrific - they run that every Tuesday I think. I’m sort of in agreement with you here.
