More Obamamania

Posted by Foobooz on January 20th, 2009

cheesesteak_obamaA week ago we linked to The Bite’s coverage of Obama themed Inauguration Day events. But in the past week many more classy events have popped up for Philadelphia.

Steaks on South is offering a cheesesteak with red, white or blue colored American cheese. [UWISHUNU]

Rouge celebrates “Obama Mania” with a special three meat chili, Washington Apple cocktail and there will be a special soundtrack of 100 American-themed songs.

National Mechanics will have CNN on the big screen and happy hour prices all day long.

Get a $.50 pint and $.50 shot to celebrate at the Institute. There will also be a buffet lunch that might be a preview of their long awaited kitchen.

ZoT has a $20.09 menu for the big day including Obama mussels and salmon Hawaii.

Ommegang’s Inauguration Ale, unofficially known as Obamagang is available at the following locations:

  • Beneluxx Tasting Room
  • Bishop’s Collar
  • Eulogy
  • Grey Lodge
  • London Grill
  • Race Street Cafe
  • St. Stephen’s Green
  • Teresa’s Next Door
  • TJ Everyday’s
  • Tria (both locations)

I tried the ale at Tria… really good. Not too heavy for a porter at all, and slightly sour, from the cherry I presume. I’m hoping it makes a reappearance…

TJ’s in Paoli is saving a second keg for Philly Beer Week.
