Best Roast Pork After Dark
Posted by Foobooz on December 12th, 2008
We’ve inadvertently stumped ourselves with this question, “where is the best roast pork sandwich for dinner?” We love ourselves DiNic’s and John’s Roast Pork but neither is an option after 5pm.
So where do you go when you want a roast pork sandwich for dinner?

Paesano’s? Haven’t been yet, but they do have that sandwich with roast suckling pig, broccoli rabe and long hots, and they’re open until 7.

Cosmi’s at 8th & Dickinson. I think they’re open until at least 8pm. They also deliver. Their other sandwiches (hoagies, cheesesteaks, chicken cutlet) are very good as well.

paesano’s arista is fantastic.
but if youre craving a beer to accompany yer pork (sly fox phoenix pale or rt 113 for me please) then the standard tap is the way to go.

nick’s roast beef (20th and jackson) makes a good roast pork and they serve until 12? it is on a kaiser bun, so it isn’t the uzse, but it is delicious anyway. that being said, it is very hard to go to nick’s and not get a roast beef. and gravy fries. MMMM!
and i love standard tap’s roast pork for a non-traditionally philly take. johnny brenda’s can be good (in the same style), but the food there is inconsistent me thinks.

I guess roast pork is like sunday gravy, it’s what you grow up with. George’s on ninth isn’t open at night, so I don’t eat roast pork sandwiches after dark–that’s cheesesteak time.
