We’re Going Red
Posted by Foobooz on October 22nd, 2008

Foobooz is going red for the Phillies and now we’ll attempt to answer everyone’s number one question, “where should I watch the game?”
In the Metro today The Bite notes Johnny Brenda’s will have the game on downstairs on a temporary plasma TV and tonight they will have the upstairs open and the game projected on a 10′ x 7′ screen. Get there early and enjoy their meatball sliders and Philadelphia Brewing Co. beer specials.
Also in The Bite today is our favorite promo so far. Bridget Foy’s is offering skate wing crusted in cornmeal and served with a jalapeno and Creole remoulade. How great is that? Eat some Ray as our Phillies devour the Rays.
More worthwhile places to consider after the jump.
The Boathouse Bar at the Rittenhouse is offering a 96″ TV plus 3 HDTVs, $5 bacon fried Philly Phranks and hot roast beef sandwiches as well as $3 drafts of Dogfish Head, Sly Fox, Smithwicks and more.
The Standard Tap will also be bringing a TV in upstairs for the Series and will be offering PBC’s Kenzinger plus nachos and wings.
Jose Pistola’s has an underrated viewing setup upstairs with 3 big HDTVs giving you a good vantage point from just about anywhere.
Craig LaBan’s online chat yesterday turned into a discussion where to watch the Phillies. In addition to the big spots like Chickie & Pete’s there were some interesting places suggested.
- St. Stephens Green
- Rembrandt’s
- New Wave
- Smiths
- Tavern 17
- Grey Lodge
- Ugly American
- For Pete’s Sake
- N. 3rd
- Pub & Kitchen
- Comcast Center Lobby (The game will be shown on the big video wall)
- Table 31
- Druids Keep
- Ugly Moose
- Nick’s Roast Beef
- Memphis Taproom
There are two rallies today in Center City. Mayor Nutter will be on hand at City Hall at noon and later in the day the Bellevue will be the place to be.
Tomorrow head to the Reading Terminal Market at noon for a pep rally featuring former Phillies pitchers Dickie Noles and Ricky Bottalico. There will be rally towels and baseball-themed goodies.
It’s the Phillies in the World Series, have a great time wherever you wind up.

South Philly Bar & Grill (9th & Passyunk) has mediocre food but cheap beer and tons of TVs, a revved up crowd, and a siren they set off when the Phillies score.
A good place to watch the game in South Philly.

Jose Pistolas brought in a 50″ screen HDTV for their downstairs bar area in addition to the three tv’s they have upstairs. It’s a great beer loving crowd loving the Phils!
