Garces On Iron Chef

Posted by Foobooz on August 18th, 2008

Jose GarcesJose Garces battled Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America last night. Melon was the secret ingredient that had to be in each of the five dishes and the challenge was each dish had to have a frozen component.

We’ll give the details on who won after the jump in case you are looking to catch it later this week or like us your stinking DVR decided not to include audio in the recording. It’ll be rebroadcast on August 21st at 9pm.

Update: Jose Garces Iron Chef America menu unveiled.

Jose Garces defeated Bobby Flay.

Garces’ five dishes will be available at all his restaurants and each will offer a special Iron Chef Menu comprised of the five dishes he created for the show.

Missed the 9pm show, had to watch it at 12am.

Garces clearly deserved his win and I cant wait to go try his dishes, especially the melon-toro ceviche and the wagyu beef-melon wraps.

Any details on when the dishes will be available and prices?

Nice to see Garces get the win with great tasting food instead of playing games with all the cool new science tools.

Frozen vinaigrette just sounded unneccessary and not all that appealing.

Everything Garces made seemed inviting. I was all about the little melon cubes with the sugar on top.

It wasn’t just your DVR — when I switched to Food Network last night around 11 (I’d missed the original airing but it was on again at midnight), there was no sound. Blame Comcast, I guess.

Yeah, does anyone have the info on the special Iron Chef menu and prices of such. I’d love to hear more.
