Opening Nights At Parc

After visiting Parc for the first time last night we were so inspired we wrote a haiku. By the looks of it Stephen Starr has another winner on his hands.

The ambiance is so dead on Parisian, we caught ourselves muttering Merci to the waitstaff. The only thing that could have made it more French would have been being sneered at. But that oversight was made up for by witnessing the Rittenhouse Row regulars checking out their new playground. And the food we sampled was excellent as well. Escargot with hazelnut butter was the winner of the evening.

Collin Flatt has his take on opening night over at Phoodie.info.

Visited last Thursday - Food is fabulous (escargot!!), Lora (waitress) was great. The design of the restaurant is stunning - very authentic. Fun but upscale bar(rare in this city), though very loud due to all the tile.
Two major disappointments: the valet is stationed right next to sidewalk tables and emanate heat/exhaust/obnoxious music from every car that passes through - how about some topiaries or something to create at least a psychological barrier?
The other thing was that a shoe shine guy came through the diners, offering his service. Some pompous a-hole diner felt like it was appropriate to take him up on his offer. The outdoor dining manager passed by a number of times and did nothing to preserve the civilized environment Starr worked so hard to create (nor did he intercept the panhandler that came through moments later). Just another thing to remind us all that we are in Philadelphia, not Paris.
I’ll go back but will stay inside… the whole effect really disintigrates otherwise.
