Yeah Beer

Beer has its own page on Philly.com and a video show called appropriately enough, “The Beer Show.” Here’s hoping they didn’t spend too much time coming up with that one. Hosted by Erin Como and Bob Finkenaur the Beer Show looks to be set up much like Philly.com’s wine show, Philly Uncorked. The first episode focuses on summer beers, pouring Sly Fox’s Royal Weisse from a can and sampling Aecht Schlenferla Rauchbier, a smoked beer from Germany. We here at the Foobooz World Headquarters like smoked beers, we think they taste like bacon, others think they taste like car tires, we’ve never drank a tire so we’re not sure about that.

Oh my god they are so annoying! HA HA! I love the idea, but come on!

That was a total waste of time, and almost offensive. Why would they use a spokesmodel, who can barely read her inane lines, when there are plenty of beer knowledgable women in Philly?

just when you thought Philly.com couldn’t get worse than the trite and sometimes misleading wine vids, we get this. Couldn’t they hire Suzanne Woods or Don Russell for this show? Its great they featured a Sly Fox cerveza, but Lord Chesterfield Ale??? I think that god-awful “food writer” in South Philly,Phyllis Stein-Novack (not to forget her mother & Edward), can pick a better beer to introduce to the multitude of Phood-geeks out there.

What a joke. Philly.com needs to never air that show again.
“This beer is smokin’, just like you Erin.” says Bob. Are you serious? I wanted to see if he could actually pronounce the Rauchbier from the episode.

So Julie, who’s to say Erin isn’t a “beer knowledgeable” woman from Philly? I think she has great energy and did a wonderful job as host. Also, I agree with Jesse, I love the idea of a Beer Show! I thought Royal Weisse Ale (a Bavarian style wheat beer) from Sly Fox Brewery was a great beer to feature, especially considering it is seasonally appropriate choice from a local brewery!

I really love the beer show! I find it very informative and highly entertaining. I think Erin is a wonderful host. She is very engaging and very fun to watch. I can’t wait to see more!!!
