Heir To Wawa Throne

Posted by Foobooz on May 8th, 2008

Wawas are retreating from Center City and it looks like there are a couple of contenders to their throne. Old Nelson and 24/7 stores have wasted no time jumping in where Wawas were.

Old Nelson has most recently replaced the 20th and Chestnut Wawa location while you’ll now find 24/7 at the corner of 2nd and Christian.

So what do you think? Which replacement do you prefer.

Which Wawa replacement do you prefer?

  • There is no replacement to my Wawa (69%)
  • Old Nelson (27%)
  • 24/7 (3%)
  • Other (1%)

People, get over yer Wawa. They left you because they don’t like you. It hurts but its true. The quicker you realize this the better off we’ll all be. Maybe we can even chase out the remaining half dozen and replace ‘em w/ something carries beer.

Does anyone remember when the Wawa near Penn’s campus (37th and Spruce) used to sell beer and it had a Taco Bell inside? Wawa, beer, and tacos – heaven. I think it might have been a wonderful dream.

My body, my choice, my Wawa. If they take away the one on Head House Square, there will be riots.

  4. Emmkay Says:

I only know of one 24/7.
I was dating a guy in Franklin Towne Apartments and they took over the Wawa downstairs.
Everything about the place was fine except they weren’t open 24 hours a day – despite their name.
    I need late night fortifications!
