How to cook a gourmet meal using ingredients only from the 99 cent store (or, as we call it here, the dollar store). [NY Times]

Not exactly food-related, but there’s a new bus service that will travel between NY and Philly with prices running between $1 and $14 each way. So, theoretically, you might be able to travel roundtrip for dinner in New York for less money than it would cost you to park in or take a taxi in Center City. [philly.com]

Should you let your underage kids have some wine with you at home? [NY Times]
