Let’s Replace Gastropub

We’ve had some great suggestions for names to replace the unfortunate gastropub.

So we’ve paired down the list to five and will let everyone vote through the end of the week. Remember, the winning submission gets a gift certificate to Cantina Los Caballitos.

   Brewstro sounds like a brewpub (also, uh, not everyone drinks beer?) Grubpub sounds disgusting. Barstro is not very pronounceable. Fooboozerie sounds like fubar. Supper pub sounds hopelessly stodgy. These are an improvement on “gastropub?!”

   I’m with smw… in particular, grubpub sounds like it involves dirt. : (

   BTW, what’s the origin of the word foobooz? I kind of like the sound of the word fooboozerie, but I don’t know whether it refers only to this site or has some wider currency.
