I do not recommend Le Famiglia for Restaurant Week. We were a party of 4. We were “accidentally” overcharged $170 instead of $140. Once we pointed out their error our bill was adjusted. In addition, we were unsuccessfull in navigating their “wine bible” in an effort find a bottle of wine under $40. The sommelier wasn’t any help either and even claimed the cheapest was $60. Eventually we asked for the wines by the glass menu which low and behold included bottle prices…most of which were under $40. I was a little surprised the sommelier wasn’t aware of these options.

I have to agree – we went with La Famiglia one evening and I was so disappointed. Our rationale was that on a regular evening we would end up paying way more than the $35 so why not check it out. Yes I have heard the horror stories of restaurant week and how both food and service can be so off, but have never really encountered such a problem years past. I felt like I was eating on a conveyor belt – it was one of the most rushed meals I have had in a long time and it just seemed like going through the motions to get people in and out. Every dish was just average.
Our second dining choice for the week was relative newcomer Salento and we had a much better experience. It was actually a four course menu and after checking original prices – we certainly made out, and almost too much food. The mozzarella salad with grilled veggies, the pork tenderloin entree, as well as the veal entree were all fabulous, but my favorite was the calamari salad appetizer – so delicious. I would definitely be open to going back and checking out some more dishes.
